Jianzhan teawares, a special product of Nanping, Fujian, has a long history. Originating from the late Tang and Five Dynasties, it flourished in the Song Dynasty and declined in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties. In the 20th century, it was successfully restored and has now become an important part of Chinese tea culture.
